About this random dude :
This guy is from ancient Chinese time period called Han dynasty (206 BC–220 AD) AKA the golden age in Chinese History!
wonder why it called golden age in china history? well.. here is a mini history lesson for you:
Founded by Han Gaozu, it was an era of peace and it allowed China to expand to a major world power, according to google search.
Paper and acupuncture was invented during this period.
Anyway...
enough of the history, I designed the Hanfu (ancient clothes which the Han people usually wear during that period) because I like to challenge myself with something that I haven't done before. I add extra features like his earring and green hair because why not? I like to make this guy unique, pretty, fabulous, and standout from the rest!
About the reference:
As for the pose, I using this image as a guided reference on drawing the face:
I already send the original artist " " through email about me using his/her art as reference because this artist is no longer active in Deviant Art, but he still have his personal email available. In return, I finally have his/her written permission to use his/her art as reference!! sweet!!
Here is the screenshot if you aren't convinced:
For the background, I designed the pattern and colored the background, but the original idea and concept of this come from . Because she is still active in DA, I comment in her art to let her know that I used her background as reference on making this art!
Here is our conversation screenshot if you haven't see this yet:
Here is her background I using as a reference :
About the art supplies:
The watercolor I used is DIXON PRANG 16 OVAL SEMI-MOIST WATERCOLORS and it cost 1 buck because I brought it in flea market.
I also used white gel pen, marker, color pencil, tape, and pencil. For the tape, I use it to glue my art down and create those white bars!
I used my iphone to take picture for now....
